We have partnered with CERA Community Emergency Radio Association! Our community-based radio watch program uses radios to communicate during emergencies and other times when cell phones, internet, and landlines are not available or unreliable. We are organized by volunteers and open to all residents of Mosquito/Swansboro.
Mosquito Neighborhood Radio Watch is in no way a substitute for 9-1-1, a Fire Department, or other first responders. Mosquito Neighborhood Radio Watch can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
We meet regularly to check in on the radio, practice and improve our radio skills, and share our experiences.
Practicing often and before an emergency will make us more comfortable and confident when we need the skills!
Contact us to learn where to obtain a two-way radio, obtain a GMRS License from the Federal Communications Commission, and attend a local training session on how to use your radio.
